Need some help. I am ordering a new tank and trying to decided which tank width and how many lights I will need for each tank so I can get a true cost to help with the decision of which tank to choose. What I really mean is which one my wife will approve :).

I am looking at Crystal Dynamics 72x24x24 or 72x30x24 both with external overflow which will save room vs WB or Red Sea with the internal overflows.

I am open to lighting suggestions, but leaning towards the new G5 Radion's. How many lights would I need on each tank and what type of lay out?

Meaning, use 3ea or 4ea XR30's or use 3ea XR30 & 1ea XR15 in the middle or use 5ea XR15?

Tank will be heavy SPS but will have some open room. See photos attached. Note: The cardboard is 79x26" as I was originally looking at the Red Sea XXL900 the outside green line on the left is 72" on top down photo. Disregard the green tape on the left, that was to hold the cardboard together. Also the picture does show it but i have about 6"-7" behind the back to originally allow for the internal overflow.

Thank you!

The extra height will only require more light and longer arms imo. If you can get a 30" width that would be much better! Otherwise keep the 24" height :)

For lights 4 xr30s would be on par.

Agreed. IMO you can get by with 3, but 4 would be better.
