How many of you dose Magnesium?

I have heard that magnesium is one of the most important elements in reef keeping and that it makes it easier to stabilize alkalinity and calcium if your magnesium is at its correct level. I have never paid attention to my mag levels but lately I have been bit by the I want to keep sps bug and need to make sure my levels are stable. I recently purchased a Tunze osmolator for ato which will help keep my salinity level stable and I am dosing 2-part for alk and calcium but am worried about the mag portion of it all and was wondering how many of you dose magnesium and how you go about it.

Any advise or comments will be greatly appreciated.

I dose mag. I use a stand alone 3 part Profilux doser. I like to keep my mag around 1500 so dosing is the easiest way.

I've heard magnesium should be around 1250-1280, is that wrong?

I keep mine about 1350. My Cal/Alk is on dosers but I dose Mag manually.

I keep mostly LPS and I dose Seachem calcium that has trace amounts of magnesium and I like yourself have never even worried about my magnesium levels. I had mine tested once just to see where mine was at without dosing, only doing water changing and adding the calcium and mine was at 1220. But I too have been told numerous time that I need to be dosing magnesium. My best advice would be to go to your LFS and get you mag levels tested and see if they are in the 1200- 1400 range. If they are, then don't worry about it, and if not then get some magnesium to dose.

I dose and use BRS! i keeo it around 1350-1400.

I quit dosing everything when I added the calc reactor. Til then, yea I dosed mag n calc.
