I am running one on my current setup and it is a pain for maintenance due to it being under the stand but I am getting ready to upgrade and the sump will be in the basement so that will make things a lot easier but I'm still not sure I want to continue to use it...Do you feel the extra maintenance and extra lighting needed is worth it to run one? Just curious to see how other people feel about them really?

I love mine. Nitrates constantly at zero, no nuisance algae, clean my glass maybe once a week, scrape off algae once a week on the scrubber and empty the skimmer cup. Weekly maintenance takes me about 30 minutes, and I only do 5% water changes once every few weeks. I wouldn't go without one!

I run one on my frag tank, removed the skimmer and its doing a heck of a job. Well worth it, my new build will have two of them.

I use two of them as my main filtration, the backup being live rocks, and definitely think they are worth it! Since it takes me less than 10 minutes to maintain my per week. I rarely do water changes and just add supplements every few days.

What kind of lighting are you guys using on your scrubbers? I am currently using a clamp light on each side with a 6500K bulb but I would like to uprgrade to led possibly I need something that will cover a larger area

I am using a led kit from rapidled with 10 660nm red leds and 2 warm white leds. There are water proof led grow light from China on ebay that you can
customized. You can get better grow with 3000K bulb in your current setup.
