Hi
I have what I feel is a dumb question lol but I want to be sure.

I have a 75 gallon display tank. Total amount with my sump is 115. I am looking at power heads that I can control during feeding time. I already found some. The package that I found comes with 2- 660GPH pumps.Does that mean that I will have a total of 1,320GPH or will it still only turn 660GPH? Price isn’t an issue, I can get more powerful ones but I just want to make sure if I get this package if it will be enough.
I plan to keep a variety of soft, hard and SPS corals.

Hard to say definitely, can you provide a link to what you are considering?

Assuming it’s a total of 1320gph, for your tank that’s only 17.6x turnover per hour in the display. There’s no hard and fast rule on this, but I would suggest shooting for about 40-60x turnover given your goals. There are some that will go as high as 100x for SPS.

Also, if cost isn’t an issue, look at multiple MP10’s, maybe a pair of MP40’s, or my personal favorite, a pair of Nero 5’s. Buy the best equipment you can afford, and if you can afford it, those are almost guaranteed better options than what you’re considering.

I also have a 75g tank with all kinds of corals, including SPS. If you are planning to keep SPS, I would shoot for high flow. I’m using 2 MP40s that can be controlled on the app and looks clean. My tank is getting around 90-95x turnover.

I have 2 MP40QDs on my 185gl & get plenty of flow & you can setup different types of flow.
