How many QT frags they buy before putting in your display? After getting brook from a group of anthias, I am very gun shy about putting anything in my tank without a qt. But boy I mind as well open up a LFS with all the things I have now. Just looking to see if anyone can pinpoint ich/velvet from a frag in their history?

Anything wet can transfer disease organisms from one tank to another, the more active the parasite in the first tank, and the more water moved, the greater the chance of it happening.
Some dealers understand the issue and are now holding their inverts in fishless systems. I hold frags a minimum of 30 days in a fishless system (60 is better).

Where you get from plays a big part. With fish same thing and depending on fish is what I worry the most. I qt fish and buy coral from a couple places that I don’t worry about. I lost most fish rare and many that can’t be collected. It was from the last fish I cheated qt but yet it seems odd or snails. My snails come from a fishless system that doesn’t see new batches of snails often. I wait until a couple months before buying when new snails come in. Lessens chance
