How many Radions on a 12' 585g?

Hi all.

How many Radion Gen 2 would I need on a 12'x3'x2' tank? It totals at 585g!

Any advice is appreciated

Yikes ,thats going to be costly to light with radions.... they arent the brightest.

That depends on a lot of factors. What your keeping, how much control you want, also budget =).

Budget is around $2k for the lighting itself. Will be keeping SPS and Chalices for the most part.

Look into the Reef breeder IT series led fixtures. I have 2 2080 fixtures and it gives off a ton of light with good par for all sorts of corals. Also has built in controls. They aren't as pricey as the radions either.

I think I'll end up going with AI SOLs, Vegas or the ReefBreeders... Thats a lot of Radions!

I know the RB units get great reviews....but, not my cup of tea.

Check out rapidled.com its DIY but youl save a ton as opposed to radions, and you get more bang for your buck... alot more! Radions have 36 leds at $700 rapid led has it fro around 300. And you can customize yours colors.

To light a 32" wide tank, you'd actually need many more commercial fixtures. They are really only good for 24"x24" with their tight optics. $2K is not going to cut it with name-brand fixtures, and even Chinese knockoffs it will be cutting it very close.

Unfortunately I'm not too handy with the DIY stuff... never has been my thing. :\ At least not with electrical. I'm considering just going with 4 of the larger Reef Breeder's LEDs. They seem to have pretty positive reviews.
