So I just added a second MP40QD to my tank and started taking advantage of the ecosmart modes. I've found that NTM full time is keeping my bare bottom super clean and polyp extension is great on my SPS tank.

If I had a reeflink or apex (next investment) I'd probably alternate between reef crest, NTM and tidal swell, but for now it's just NTM.

Wondering what all the successful SPS people are running.

a vary the modes during the day with the NT Mode at night after feeding.

I run NTM full time with 2x MP10QDWs. My corals are doing well under it. I also wish I had the option to switch it up but it is what it is...

I've said that I am going to get the apex next for so many major upgrades. I've just been making due with an RKL. Next step is deciding on if I add 2xMP10QD to the back wall first or upgrade to apex first.

Don't see the need for an apex. The reef link does what is needed. But hey I work with automated equipment all the time. I just learned to keep it simple. [emoji3]

For those of you running reef crest full time, are you on sync or antisync mode?

My 2nd pump is otw so this is an interesting post :)

After having spent the money on all the bells and whistles for the apex, and sending it all back, I would suggest just get the reeflink.
I've been straight up told 'we want it to be dumbed down like Macs for normal users, we will not be adding the functionality to the WXM because we think it will confuse users'.
Though that was in reference to, acclimation mode, lightning, clouds, and sunrise/sunset functionality on ecotech radions.

So they don't care too much about replicating the experience. I've heard they didn't even change the menus for the wxm and radions for inclusion of a 'gyre' mode. They just tell you to use the long pulse mode.. lol (they didn't even change a single label in a menu! that's 30 seconds of "programming" in the web site)

FYI; Ecotech was the one to change that label. What is now known as gyre used to be long pulse, and the functionality is unchanged.

I guess I'm stupid.

Will the Gyre mode work only using 2 MP40 qd? With only 1 MP40 qd?

Is there a good video or diagram showing the gyre mode with the MP40 qd?

I have had two or more MP40's on my tank for years now. Before purchasing the WXM module I ran Reefcrest, anti sync on 2 of 3. When I added the 4th MP40 and the WXM i changed it all up. I run multiple modes on all the pumps. The two that are located on the end panes are ES models so the are capable of the newer modes. The rear two are Gen 2's and run multiple modes of Reefcrest and pulse. Running the various modes through the day does wonders for the tank and slowing it down at night is more peaceful for the fish.

Correct, at least from what I've heard from everyone as well. Just wondered how many years it'll take before they change it.. :D

As a side note I always thought the gyre wouldn't work very well on round prop pumps, unless they're positioned far to one side of the tank, at least comparing it to the footprint-physics of the maxspect.
