How many super male wrasse is allowed ?

I finally released my supermale flame wrasse onto my 400 gallon DT yesterday. He immediately established his ranking in the tank. There was intensive chasing between the flame and Labouti wrasse. The supermale naoko has been the king among the fairy wrasse in my tank, however he did not show any aggression towards the new wrasse. The flame wrasse was able to defend himself. Today the tension between these 2 males has definitely cooled down, I can tell the flame wrasse is the winner. I wonder if the supermale fairy wrasse could co exist with other supermale fairy wrasse without turning into sub male. Should I put more female wrasse to prevent the supermale from becoming a sub male?

They can coexist. It really depends om which kind. I find that supermale labouti to be extemely aggressive. I've been through 2 and both gotten very agressive

Yes, my supermale Labouti is rather aggressive. He has been chasing the juvinile earlei and the rosÃ©band. It is interesting to see how the hierarchy gets shuffled whenever there is a new wrasse added to the tank. I also noticed that my Nahacky does get along with the flame wrasse, in fact the male Nahacky is constantly flashing at the female flame wrasse. I wonder if the male fairy wrasse would flash at any female fairy wrasse..

They are doing fine. I have also released a red head wrasse into the DT without creating any tension.

I have had both a super male Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus (plus 2 females) and a super male C. earlei (plus 3 females) together in a 500g for nearly a year now with absolutely no problems.

How many wrasses do u keep in your 500g tank?

Seven. I tried a Rhomboid on a couple occasions but couldn't keep them alive.

Rhomboid will be my next addition actually. Are they very hard to keep?

I have a supermale hooded and a supermale Katherine's trio in my QT actually. I saw the Katherine supermale flashing a few days ago that it's entire body turned to pinkish...which I thought it was kinda fun to watch.

Nice!!! my earle wrasse is still a juvinile, don't know how much time I have to wait to get him this big....
