I thought that you wanted to move to 6 T5s? If so, then Hydroponics stuff can be really good and the ones with individual reflectors have good output.

i wanted to move to something less heat, t5's grow any coral... and less heat, and less cost...

if i am buying all new halide ballasts and reflectors and bulbs for a lower wattage system, i dont get the heat loss but by a few degrees i might as well go with led's is the point i was trying to make

my mind doesn't work like most peoples... LOL

The T5s will be a fraction of the heat and probably not even noticeable... even LEDs in a hood have some heat, but about like T5s. Any hood can trap heat and you might need a fan.
