How many tangs are too much for a 180?

How many tangs is the limit for a 180?
I like these tangs
I would keep 1 - 4.
1. Achilles Tang
2. Blue Hippo Tang
3. Purple Tang
4. White Tail Bristoletooth Tang
5. Powder Blue Tang
6. Yellow Tang
I was wondering if adding these 2 tangs is too much or are these 4 enough for a 180?
I figured I would ask instead of searching for my answer for about 10 hours...
I know Powder Blue Tang and Achilles are the same Genus but it is possible from what I have seen.

Add them together and you should be fine. Depends on what else you plan to keep as well.

Biggest factor is going to be the individual personalities of your tangs. Second I would say is age, we rarely get tangs that are fully mature so a combination of juviniles that works for a few years may have problems when they mature. WHat every you try you need to be prepared to rehome individuals when problems arise.

The first 4 should be fine although the Blue MIGHT push the limits after several years. I would skip the Powder Blue for aggression and the Yellow since you would already have an aggressive Zebrasoma Tang in there (The Purple Tang).

I think you would have better luck if 2 of the 4 tangs weren’t borderline too big for the tank. Blues and achilies are generally recommended for 8ft tanks not 6ft.

Especially the achilies who come from surge zones. Need extreme flow and extra care.

I had a yellow, bristletooth, and Achilles in a 120 gallon tank (48”x30”x19”). They did fine while I had them but I wouldn’t do the Achilles again in that small of a tank. When I shut down that tank he was about 5-6” long and was the “king” of the tank. I think with another 2’ he would have done better long term. I’ve seen plenty of yellows and purples together but personally I’d skip the hippo and powder blue.
