I have a 120 and usually spend 2-5 hours weekly, just wonder how many reefers have and how they manage it.

I have a total of three tanks. One reef and two freshwater. I’ve had more in the past but three is plenty now. They keep me busy enough.

I'll play. I have 5 tanks in my home right now. A Waterbox 230.6 freshwater community, a 40b mixed reef, another 40b mixed reef, a 29g freshwater community, and a 5.5g anemone QT tank. I also have a 105g in the garage waiting to be setup. I spend maybe 5 minutes most days working on the tanks and 15 minutes once a week on water changes.

Wow only 15 mins on water change? It’s that including maintenance?

Please also include (optimal) if you don’t mind telling, if you’re retired for those of you that owns more than 1.

I have a full time job, 1 tank and 1 kid.

I have my systems set up so that my maintenance is minimal. I have a 400gpd RODI system with 20g pressurized tank and always have 45g of saltwater mixed and ready to go. I do weekly 5 gallon WC on the 40b's and only do about monthly water changes on the freshwater tanks. I have to change filter sock every few days, but that only takes a few minutes for all the tanks. I don't dose, rarely test water params, only if something seems off, and feed everyday.

I am not retired, work almost 50h/week, and commute 1 hour each way to work.

I only have pics of 2 tanks right now.

Do you mind I ask if you’re retired? That’s quit a lot of tanks.
Not retired. Engineer for a boiler company. All those tanks are part of the same system. Actually in the process of relocating the tank to my basement...

180 salt, 29g fresh, & a 40b vivarium. The 29 is the most work. Salt takes maybe 30min a week if I clean the glass. Vivarium is almost self containing except for feeding flies.

Ok, I’ve currently got 4 tanks filled and running. 120 fish only

Just finished construction on the building a little over a month ago so still getting things going in there. Figure I’ll get one up and running at a time. Equipment isn’t cheap.

2 tanks connected. Water changes take about 30 min. I do this once a week and do some testing at the same time. No lifting or buckets required. Most time is spent feeding the non photosynthetic corals 2x a day.

I’ve got a 135g DT in the living room, a 36 gallon bow front in my bedroom and setting up a 10g in my 8 year old sons room because he wants to start learning to care for his own. Also have a goldfish tank in my step-daughters room and a bioactive vivarium for my wife’s chameleon.

I have about 30 tanks which are a mix of FW and SW - about 10 of them are currently SW.

...and no I’m not retired either. :)

At one point I had 4 nano tanks going, 2-8g cubes, and 2 - 25g cubes. It was allot to take care of.

Now I have 180g in the main living area, and a 33 long frag tank in my office. I spend maybe an hour a week on maintenance, and most of that is on the frag tank.
