Some fish with higher metabolism are noted to need to eat multiple times per day. However, if food is present in the tank already (a la pods, algae, other stuff), is it necessary to feed the tank multiple times per day? How often do you feed your tank?

In the comments tell us how often you feed and what your methods are (1x frozen, 1x dried, autofeeder, etc.).

Currently I am feeding my Chromis 3-4 times a day a Marine Flake. They always eat very enthusiastically . I am going to add more to their diet when I nail down a food that is not going to add a lot of nutrients to the tank. Kind of feel like an idiot because I had no idea that Chromis need multiple small feedings a day.

I feed 3 cubes of Dr Tim's make your own frozen food once a day. That goes in a 200g with hippo Tang,, yellow tank, two clowns, cleaner wrasse, watchman goby, and a yellow goby.

Sometimes I feed every other day, and just put a small algae clip in.

I have got new as long as 3 days without feeding with no problems. These were days where my wife and I were traveling for work (we work for the same business) and I dont want to bother friends or family with multiple feedings.

I currently feed 2 cubes of mysis shrimp in the morning, and either freeze-dried plankton or mysis pellets in the afternoon. About twice a week, I put an algae clip in the tank, especially for the cowfish. He loves mysis and seaweed. The mollies eat anything the cowfish doesn't eat.

I also have Nutramar Ova and LRS Fertility Frenzy, and feed that on a weekly basis. The clowns really like Nutramar Ova

1/2 cube every other day...two clowns and a strawberry pseudo..

4-6 quarter sheets of nori per day, 2 large frozen squares of LRS reef frenzy per day, and a pinch of blue zoos dry food mix for my clowns in the sump lol

Probably equivalent to a little more than a cube or two ~5 or more times a day... mix of mysis, a variety of LRS, reef nutrition r.o.e., lrs fish eggs and live black worms when I can, sometimes fresh clams.

150gal with 22ish fish from small anthias to large tangs

Also nori anywhere from once a week to once a day

I feed my tanks a little bit at least 3 times a day, usually more . Just enough that will pile up on my finger. I feel this most matches their habits from home. After all what does a fish do most days? The eat, make little fishes & try not to get eaten themselves. I'm retired so I have the time to do this. I couldn't when I still had to work . I do not miss those days !

Usually twice a day, one of spirulina flake and the other will be a frozen food either mysis or spirulina brine. On the weekend when I'm home I'll give an extra feeding. Tang and blenny get Nori on a clip every day or every other day depending on how lazy I am.

My clowns get 1 cube of mysis in the morning followed by a half cube of spirulina enriched brine and fauna marine ultra clown pellets in the evening. Probably a little much for my tank but my CUC does a pretty good job of snatching any excess laying around.

I used to only feed 2 times a day flakes and some sinking pellets in the morning then frozen mysis or rods food at night but now I have some anthias a they are some hyper ones so I feed 3 times a day now. But to avoid to much nutrients I only feed frozen once a day and flakes twice a day

I feed a mix of frozen food and pellets once a day. Sheet of Noti every other day.

Is it okay to drop a day? I do every once in a while and they are fine.

2 fish in a Fusion 20, I feed about 10 small pellets a day, or a few pellets and half cube of frozen brine shrimp when I get home at a decent time.

One frozen cube per day, nori, some type of pallets (Extreme seaweed or spectrum marine fish formula). Usually the nori is given in the morning and the others in the evening.

I feed 3-6 times a day. Very small amounts for the 6 fish currently in the DT. Small pinch of flake with maybe some pellets thrown in 2-4 times and roughly a half cube of frozen 1-2 times per day.
