How many Tunze ATOs have you had fail?

My Tunze nano which is just over a year old has failed for the third time in the last few days resulting in my tank overflowing and it not stopping until the water ran out after I cleaned the sensor. I’ve contacted them but it’s so frustrating. Have you ever had one fail?

Mines been fine over 2 years. Never clean it either.

Yup going on 3 years with my 3155 (bigger version). Nothing wrong except a crack on the tubing on the pump which I did when I dropped it.

I thought these failed in the off position?

Mines gotten stuck in the off position, not the other way around. Noticed my light turn off (have a low water sensor that pops a light off when triggered) and just brushed it and power cycled it.

I thought these failed in the off position?

Mine has failed in the on position more than mentioned and the off position would be more favorable.

I have had 2 nanos fail. One would only pump if you unplugged it and plugged it back in. Once it hit the sensor line and stopped it would not work again until it was unplugged again. The second did exactly as yours, overflowed my evo. Needless to say I switched to reef breeders prism for nano tanks. I have the larger version that is going on 2 years and the only issues I’ve had with it is due to coralline forming on the sensor keeping it from activating. A quick clean off and it’s back to business as usual!

I wonder if it’s just the nano one that fails in on position then. I went with the 3155 because it’s been tried and true for so long.

I have a used nano version for over a year no issues at all. Also have the big version no issues either.

My issue is the pump. Where the tube goes in it breaks that part. Both pumps have had this happen. Now the newer dc pump is awesome.

I had this happen too but I just ignored that part since it still worked.

It just happened again for me. And of course you cant find that little part anywhere. You would need to buy a new pump b

My 3155 is going on 8 years old I believe. Still works perfectly. I’ve heard of the 3152 failing far more often on the other hand

My nano failed (to fill) after a year. Would never buy another. My 3155 has been flawless for years.

So last night my tank overflowed from the ATO and I accidentally dropped the water too much so I shut off my heater so it wouldn’t be on and run dry. I then added more water and realized I forgot to turn my heater back on last night!

Thankfully the temperature only dropped 2-3 degrees and it’s coming back up and everyone is still alive. I’m worried still though especially about my starfish who I thought died but is still alive and is either eating or has his guts out/is melting. I’ve had him for a year and he has survived a tank crash before so I’m hoping it’s food since he was eating last night but isn’t moving around like he normally does/would.
