How many turns in your drains?

For those of you who have large systems, and hard plumbed them;

How many turns, angels, drops do you have in your drainage system (not returns)??

I know it is recommended (needed) to have drains flowing to sump in the most direct route possible, I’m curious if anyone had issues and what solutions you came up with.

My 2" pipes go almost straight into the sump. I had to add offsets to my bean pipes to move them 2 inches so they would be directly over the socks

My external overflow being centered on back of tank, my opening to stand are offset a few feet to the sides of back of stand. I will have to do creative adjust. If soft pumped it wouldn’t be a problem, but I wanted to hard plump pvc.

no turns. pvc straight from the overflow box, connected to flex vinyl into the sump. I know that it's not a pretty but it works and it's just about a straight line you can make.

But in all seriousness, if properly plumbed with check valves, unions, and proper gravity feed it shouldn't really impact the return capabilities. Lots of things can impact that though beyond just number of turns. Potential for trapping air, slowdowns in flow (filter socks, baffles, etc..) in general the plumbing 'straight line' is important but - in my very humble opinion - no more or less than some of those other aspects.

Hey Dreamcatcher,
I only showed those to make you chuckle. I had that same comment about angles/turns when we built this thing and my builder just laughed at me. He said if you can come up with a way to do fewer angles he was all ears... Suffice to say that wasn't an option.
The tank is around 700g (I believe) and the total system is a little over 1000g.
