How many water changes for a macroalgae tank

So I have a 20g tall which I put some caulerpa prolifera and feather caulerpa I have one crab and maybe a snail live rock and like a 7 inch sand bed I don't see the point of doing weekly changes if I put two fish in there do I change the water monthly who has some experience and I also dose the 2 part calcium every week and some iron

Just watch the nitrate and phosphates.. IMO. Some friends who did macro dominant actually suffered nutrient poor water quality.

I use calcium nitrate and mono potassium phosphate it's at high levels
