How much biopellets for 300 gal fish-only system.

I just purchased 1000 mL of Vertex Pro-bio biopellets and I was wondering how much is a good starting volume for a heavily stocked 300 gal system.

I have a 300 and I believe started out around 400 ml. 1200 was the target to get to

How do you mean slowly? Start on the lower end of the volume? I just saw the package and they say to use 1.7 to 3.4 oz to every 26.4 gallon of water.

Mine is 1 cup for 55 gals and my tank is 55 I started less than 1/2 a cup
