Thought some might find this interesting. Couple of points on the tank I am referencing.
  • 34 gal cube
  • Basement location
  • House : 2400 sq feet forced air HVAC
  • Occupants : 2 adults, no pets
I noticed that there were upticks in my PH with lower lows and higher highs on certain days. This happens when the wife and I are out of town. You can see just how much of a difference it makes on the 5th of October through to when we got home on the night of the 7th.

Pretty crazy right? I did not think just the two of us in such a big space would cause so much of a dip.

Figured others might find it interesting :)

My pH max is about 8.2 when we are home and 8.5 when we are away. We must be heavy breathers :)

I’ve got an IQAir air quality monitor. When we’re away on vacation, CO2 gets down to 350ppm... when everyone is i the house it gets up to 1400ppm... that’s with 2 adults, one child and 3 dogs. That’s a 4x increase

For me a CO2 scrubber is basically mandatory. But I have to remember to unplug it on vacation otherwise I get alerts as the pH gets to the 8.5 range

Better not let Greta find out about that...

When my daughter has people sleep over my PH plummets from 8.3 to 7.8. My tank is in the basement where they all hang out. I have to hook up my CO2 reactor prior to them all coming over....and i am just talking about a couple of extra kids. The reactor keeps my PH stable fortunately.

Aha!. I had this exact experience a couple of days ago. My pH dropped a lot and I didn't know why. I thought the sleepover my daughter had might have been it, but I was doubting such a drop could be due to a couple of extra kids. Good to know for the next sleepover!
