So currently I have a 90G FOWLR and put my first fish in a couple days ago. A pair of clowns of course. I had my Tunze powerhead and Gyre on 20% running and it seemed like they had to fight the current, but maybe that's me being too micro managing? Do you think the returns are enough with FOWLR or do I need the others as well??
(Excuse the microbubbles. I've given up on that)

Obviously you never want to just blow fish around a tank (I know you know that), so the strength of the flow is a little dependent on the size/strength of the fish. One strategy with a FOWLR is to have an area of slightly higher flow— such as running behind your rocks to keep crud from settling there— and gentler flow across the front of the tank. Then your fish can ‘exercise’ or ‘chill,’ depending on their mood. My 2-cents, anyway. Enjoy your FOWLR! ;Cat
