Im trying to get a benchmark for my tank. As per calculations, im using up .5 dkh a day in a 230 gallon system... minimal SPS.

What do you guys have for consumptions and what is your system volume? for comparison purposes

I dose 75mls. of alk. in my 100 gallon tank a day.

My 150g reef would drop a bit over 1 dKH per day with no dosing.

I have about 130 gallons total and I'm currently up to 48ml/day of BRS two part. Keeps me nice and steady (at the moment)

Steady 8.9 .. ATO with lime water(Mrs Wages pickling lime). Calcium steady at 450. Mag 1400... 2x5 gallons week WC, ESV synthetic salt. Heavy sps, lps, etc... Set it forget it... check params every sunday. KISS method.

About 0.15 per day plus what fully saturated kalk replenishes in my 29. That number is soon to go up with the addition of a lot more stony corals.

A little over 1 dKH per day and I dose 25 ml of alk, 25 ml of calcium and 6 ml mg per day in m 28 g cube. I test, but not as regularly as I should, normally the water tests at 450 Ca, 8 dKH and 1400 mg.

75 mls?? 2 and half ounces ??? i dose 2-3 mls weekly inbetween water changes on my 85 gal with 15 refuge...am i crazy? i have ~30 corals

I use about 50ml of alk a day. 20 cal. And next to nothing on mag. I have a 120g 40g sump my total volume is 110.

171 ml of BRS 2 part alk and calcium in my 160 gallon total system. Several medium sized SPS, several very fast growing chalices and several fast growing cyphastreas.

It depends on the livestock. Before using kalk I was dosing 17ml daily in my 29.

The easiest way to know how much to dose each day is to get it where you want it and then go three days without dosing and then retest and divide the results by three. Then you can go to the brs reef calculator and it will tell you how much to dose each day to maintain. Are you using a dosing pump or manually dosing?

My tank is 165 gallons and I'm dosing 500 ml / day (losing about 3 dkh / day just to keep things stable. I have about 40 frags in there, but to me it seems like the consumption is really high. Could things be precipitating out of the water column?

Using API so accuracy is definitely in question, however my tank consumes 1 or less a week. It is minimally stocked currently as well

The user you quoted hasn't been online for years so I doubt they'll answer but I will say if you only have frags and not large colonies that sounds like a lot. My 125g tank uses about 1.25 dkh per day and I have several fairly large sps colonies along with a lot of frags.
