So most of the time the common areas of my house are dark at night, so when the lights over the fish tank go off it is pretty much pitch black in the tank and this is what my fish are used to. However, occasionally I have a nurse in the house overnight to help with some of my son’s medical conditions. This usually happens for one or two nights every two weeks. When the nurse is here then the room lights stay on all night and this allows a lot of light into the aquarium. I’ve debated trying to cover the side of the tank with something opaque on those nights to give the fish a little more peace while they’re trying to sleep. Do you guys think that would be beneficial or do you think that the extra light isn’t much of a concern?
