I am looking to get into this system and was just curious as to how much this method can cost me on a monthly and yearly basis. For the people who are currently running this system, would you be so kind to post how big your system is and how much you think it costs you to run this Triton Method on a monthly or yearly basis. Im talking about costs that are a direct result because of this method such as testing and chemicals. I am researching this now so im not sure of any other items that may be a direct result because of it. I current run a 72 gallon reef tank that will be upgraded to a 120 this year.

On another note, i joined the Triton Facebook support group (which is not very active) and asked the same question. Someone sent me a personal message and explained that ATI, the same company that makes the light fixtures some of you use, is coming out with the same exact system soon that will cost significantly less. I guess the German website already has information on it but the UK website should be updated with information within the next few weeks.

There are several company's in Germany doing this type of Method now. I would not look for it to come to the US anytime soon. ATI does a lot of other things than just lighting but we only get their lighting here in the US.

@d2mini is planning a Triton build. He hasn't started it yet but maybe he has more information/insight?

Are you talking about the Triton Method or lighting? There are plenty of people here on R2R doing the Triton Method in some form and we have a Triton USA sponsor forum.
Not sure if the OP is talking about the Lani LED lights when they speak of ATI doing something, but IMHO, Lani is the only LED company on the right track with LED lighting. Light panels that cover the entire tank. No spotlighting.

As far as cost, I'll have to look it up and see where I saw mention of it, but basically it sounded like it wasn't much different than 2-part dosing, especially once you passed the initial set of tests in the beginning and fall into maintenance mode.
The Elements might cost a little more (remember, they are concentrates that get mixed with water to make large batches) but you save a lot of money on salt by not doing water changes.

Dennis I think the OP was talking about the Triton Method itself not the LED system.

I guess the triton method is not that popular and no one on this forum uses it.

Like @d2mini said there is a vendor forum here and there's people that do use it. If you need specific guidance you probably should post in their forum... They also have a couple of introductory threads you could look at...

Sorry guys, missed that. Will take a look.

I'm also confused I like the idea but there's 2 kits 1 original and a coral version... the price for the kits isn't too bad but at about 30 bucks a bottle for each element depending on need could get pricey initially. Plus there's nothing I could see indicating how much or where exactly you send off the water samples to and the cost for testing on the 32 trace elements. I'd love to try it but until I hear more on cost of startup I'm a bit reluctant. I'll keep watching brs on YouTube to see how there model works after 1 year. So far after a bumpy start/change over everything looks great.

Oh I found it all test kits often sold out but it's 50 for 1 USD plus shipping. So bout 150-200 a year
