How much flow do I need

Hey reefers need some help I have a 60x30x24 I’m doing a lps/ softies I have 2 Nero 7 and 2 Red Sea 45 wave makes how much flow do I need? Setting and percentage?

Based on the coral types you would want cumulative flow including return pump of maybe 20x or less tank volume.

I got a Frag tank. 61″ x 25″ x 16″ about 100 gallon display. So far have MP40x2 @ 40-70% (around 2200-3500 gph). @Lavey29 is pretty spot on with 20x since you're aiming at LPS/softies. Based on your dimensions, that's 175 gallons? So, around 3500gph would be ideal.

You're current setup of Nero7 x2 and RedSea45 x2 is more than enough.

Just look at the max GPH of your powerheads and return pump and dial everything back so when you add it all together it's about 20x turn over. Generally you was 3x to 5x turnover through your sump but can be as high as 10x too depending on needs.

I recommend watching some videos of people with established tanks and what their corals look like in the flow. I think that's easier than trying to dial in based on GPH numbers.

You'll be tinkering with flow for a while before you get it to where you like it, so give it time. Then you'll add or move corals, change something around, and you'll have to change the flow again to accommodate lol.

Yup. Each LPS will give you an idea of how they’re liking the flow by how they look. My Trachys hated too much flow (they’d shrink), but the Gonis and Torches loved it. @Aquachristik is right, we all pretty much tinker with flow and placement. Watch videos of your corals and it’ll give you an idea of flow requirements.
