How much flow do you give your torches?

I noticed in higher flow the tenticles are extended more and are thinner and in low/medium flow the tenticles are thicker.

Enough so they wave gently back and forth without being whipped across.

Well that was my problem. I think I had way too much flow

If your torches look like these palm trees, it's probably too much flow.
