How much flow is the right amount of flow?

I can’t see to find the right balance for flow (or perhaps I am overthinking).

I have some fish that like a lot of flow (clowns) and one that doesn’t (possum wrasse). 32 g tank with 2 current USA Felix 1050 GPO and a sicce 1.5

I have my power heads set at like 10-30%. While they are not moving any sand around should I bump them up to 40-60%during the day?

50% would be 500 gph. Only a few frags and nothing that require a lot of flow. I was thinking 20x at most which would put me at 640 gph which is about 30% for each power head.

Am I doing that math correctly? Should they be on a schedule like day more flow and night less flow?

Curious what people do.

I think with most and certainly with mine, it was trial and error. I played with the placements and timers till I found a set up that didn't cause corals to close, didn't seem to bother the fish and didn't blow sand around. I think the most important aspect of flow is making it as random as possible. My two on each side of the tank are on a wave maker that goes off every 115 minutes and I have one on the back blowing toward the top that runs continuously. This creates a random flow that changes frequently. I don't have the fancy ones that can change the power levels so they go full blast.

3x to 5x for filter 10 x would be alittle 50 x would be alot of flow. 10x good for light flow corals 20 to 30 med. Flow 40 to50x fast flow
