HI all been thinking of adding a gyre to my Nuvo 40. Currently have a MP10 in the tank but theres a couple dead spots. Or maybe there isnt enough flow?

Ive read on here that some say flow is sometimes more important then light?

Thoughts?

A MP10 on each side of the tank would be ideal. Perhaps some smaller power heads in the back corner.

I don't think a gyre would be the best option based on the tank you have.

I got one in the top left. Was thinking maybe the maxspect gyre would be just enough towards the middle

I thought you already made a post on which is better and you said you were getting the gyre? IMO the gyre is very strong and would be too much for your tank with the MP10, if it was just the gyre I would say that would be plenty and suffice

Yeah that was me, but just trying to push some more flow into the tank. I was going to get a Gyre but haven’t found a buyer locally

The gyre is cool, I like them in my current tank, however I had (2) MP10s in my old 56tall, which had similar proportions to a Nuvo 40 and really enjoyed how they worked, and the ease to clean them. I cranked them both up to 100% in the 'yellow' reef crest mode. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
