How Much GPH Would Be Good Enough For Achilles Tang?

So I’ll be getting a 240 long (249) and will also be stocking with an Achilles Tang. I was wondering what GPH would be sufficient for this, the return pump will have about a 10x rate of 2650 GPH and this will make me know the range of Powerheads I need. Thanks!

Tangs in general don't really care about GPH, they just care about space to swim. I'm guessing with a 240, the tank is at least 6 ft long, that is the minimum suggested length for a Achilles tang, but it sufficient. The only thing that really cares about water turnover is corals.

That plenty of space, you will see that the Achilles tang will swim that whole tank, I am jealous, can't get that tang and I would love to have one, maybe my next tank, LOL!!!

Tank size wise I think you are in great shape. I have kept quite a few tangs over the years, and moderate flow does make a difference in my experience. They tend to be more active and really swim aggressively with moderate to high flow. I have discovered they become lethargic in slow flow. These are all subjective identifiers. So for me I do 6x turnover in my 6'x2'x2' tank and they seem to love it. When I was at 2x they definitely became a little more lethargic. I never noticed health deteriorate at all in either situation.
