How much H2O2 should I add to a small dish of tank water with a frag in it that has hair algae on it?

I use 4:1 ratio of 3% H2O2 to a bucket of tank water for 5 minutes.

What kind of frag? I have used straight h2o2 on a zoanthid rock, they don't bat an eye. Let it sit a few minutes, rinse and back in tank. You could use a syringe to target the algae and let it sit out a minute or two assuming a healthy, healed frag

Ultimately whenever you buy a new inhabitant you should remove it from the plug that it came on, this listens the impact that you might introduce a hitchhiker and also removing whatever algae was present.

Agreed completely, but this is an encrusting monti, so was hesitant to start hacking up the frag right now.
Dipped in Bayer and was fine until had to remove tangs from tank.

I've had monti colonies on rocks I've treated with straight h202 they pale a bit but recovered fine. I'd use the ratio above and see how it reacts, if algae not gone in a few days, I'd try the straight h2o2 targeted on the algae.

Done, frag back in tank, Algae brushed off easily after soaking only a minute or two. Now to see how the monti responds.
