How much I love my diamond watchman goby

I just simply wanted to post this because I am having an absolute hoot with my diamond goby
I have 2 of them in a Red Sea reefer 450

They are hilarious

So I am new to reefing
I have various other fish but these guys are comical
I got them to help clean the sand! Well..... that they do.

Tonight I come home and the sand is in little piles all over

Glad I put my rock in first then my sand so it was solidly on the bottom

This funny little guy dug a came under every rock he could. I start watching him for a minute and he goes in the cave, graves a mouth full of sand, comes out spits it out and goes back in again
I could watch his decision making for hours. It’s pretty awesome. Plus he is doing a way better job then my CUC

There is no question that they are full of personality and very enjoyable fish!

Be sure you have a lid and no gaps. They are notorious jumpers and will find the smallest crack to get out through. I lost mine this way.

Hmm I didn’t realize it was that bad,
I was warned ones. I have an egg crate / light diffuser from Home Depot on the top of the tank right now

Your telling me that’s not enough?

I agree with @jeffchapok - they will jump and can go through the egg crate. I would change to a tighter mesh - good luck and hopefully you can continue to enjoy the fish in the tank for a long time!

Screen on the egg crate for now until I can make a better cover

I wish Red Sea just fregin made one.....

That should be fine to add some screen for now. Whether you buy the custom screen top from Bulk Reef Supply or use it as a pattern and make your own, I would encourage you to at least take a look at the BRS screen top.

I second the lid recommendation! My buddy had his jump out and luckily he was there and put him back quickly!! If they get stressed by other fish or something they jump out.
