Do you think a 150 halide setup would be too much for an LPS/softie tank?

(the tank is 15 high x 18 long x 15wide (inches))

LPS as in euphyllia, chalices, candycanes, etc

softies as in zoas, possibly a sarco leather (green polyp one) mushrooms/rics?

i have a 2 x 24 watt t5 unit right now (with SLRs) and am not so happy with the color of it. (maybe i have the wrong bulbs)

im using an aquablue plus (giessman) and an actinic... and im looking for a bit more purple in my lighting... should i replace the actinic with a fiji purp or something?

The 150 should be fine. You might have to raise it up some but will work. Your not going to get a purple coral out of MH either.

i have a 150 watt mh hqi over my 46 gallon lps dominated tank.. mostly acans....and 96watts of t5 actinics

Color is great in my tank. Now i had some acans under T5's and they bleached out. But i put them back in my 29gal and after a monthy they got their color back.

i have acans under just t5's also and no problems.... its a 75 gallon with a 324 watt nova extreme pro..

150 is fine.
I use a 250 watt HQI ballast on a 30" wide x 18" high zoanthid tank.

I also use 3x250 watt on my 240 gallon softy tank.
