How much is your most expensive coral?

I have two that were considerably more expensive than the others as I’m a budget reefer for the most part. I gave 200 for each of these torches, one is a two headed dragon soul and the other is a 4 head orange tip. I love em though. 1st pic is the dragon soul, second is the orange tip, third is my little torch garden consisting of those two and a neon fade torch and a Halloween joker torch.

most expensive single piece in my tank? CSB anemone (450$)

i’ve definitely spent more, overall/all together, on frags that have died on me :(

Wow I’m attacked (looking at my birdnest graveyard). Birds nest are the hardest corals to grow and no one will be able to change my mind about that.
Agreed all my birds nest bleach instantly even though there is a milli a digi and a montipora growing right next to them

I usually buy bargain bin frags and or bargain hunt live sales. Got some sps frag from WWC on ebay following a live sale for like $10 that they list for $150.

My dumbest and most expensive purchase was a elegance coral from a LFS that I never bought coral from because their stuff was always over priced and the tanks looked like crap.

Thing had a bit of bleaching in the tank, against my better judgment I bought it for like $150 and it died within 3 days.

I think the most I've spent on a coral is $40 so I don't know what the heck inspired me to do that besides the fact that I really wanted an elegance coral.

Most I've paid was $480 for an Acanthophyllia. It probably wasn't worth it but it was originally listed for $900 and after watching it at the store for 9 months I made a cash deal. Any live stock I buy, especially corals I look at like buying lottery tickets. You win some you loose some. If I can't afford to throw the money in the trash and still pay the bills then I can't afford the coral. Of course I always hope I can keep them alive and do my best trying but you just never know.

I am insanely jealous of those of you that have a lfs close by that you can sell corals back to. When I have a coral grow too big I usually end up throwing most of it away.
I’d buy some from you! Don’t throw them away. What do you have? I know shipping is the hard thing.

Just 6. I wonder how many frags this could’ve made

Ha, a lot! You must have a much bigger tank than my 32g. I constantly have to free up real estate to prevent battles and death. If you do frag it don’t take it to my lfs for credit unless you leave your wallet at home!

It’s a 125g and space is still an issue for me. Just a few days ago I realized one of my hammers grew into my fox flame acro and killed it. I have a 100g tank that I just setup that I think I’m going to start putting frags of my nicer corals into.

Wow you practically have the Gulf of Mexico in your house! Would love to see a fts.

Not hardly, compared to many on this forum my tank is small. Here is the newest picture that I have on my phone, that I obviously took while playing with some filters and lenses

Wow, stunning! I wouldn’t leave the house if I had to look at all day. Well done!

This is my most expensive coral.
HOWEVER!! It was mislabeled during a live sale as a $35 RFA. CLEARLY that's not the case
Luckily, the amazing guys gave it to me for $50 as it was their mistake lol

This beauty has since been almost completely devoured by a file fish as I was trying to get rid of aiptasia in my 110.

Luckily, I got the file fish out and this beauty is coming back to life.
