How much kalkwasser to add....

havent tried kalkwasser before but i decide to give it a try my question is what if the calcium is high and the alk is low? or vise-versa....(if this is even possible) what do i do now? and should i only dose when my readings are low?

You need your levels to be correct before dosing kalk

Before you start using Kalkwasser you'll want to bump up your Magnesium to the proper level, then your Calcium and then your Alkalinty. You might want to start with 1 teaspoon per gallon at first and then go from there too. GL.

Save it? Next time? What do you mean?

Kalk must be added slowly or it will increase your pH significantly to unhealthy levels.

How do you plan to add it? Most add Kalk to their ATO water.

i don't have a ATO. I'm going to make a diy gravity dripper. something like in this picture. Now if i mix it in a 5 gallon bucket, not all of the mixed solution will fit in the small container. Do i just mix enough to fit in the container???

You can mix an entire bucket and keep a tight lid on it. It will be fine. Use only the clear portion after it has settled post mixing.

After you mix it up the first time there should be a small residue in the bottom. You should not mix it up again. Avoid sucking up the residue when adding the Kalk too your tank.
