How much lighting?

Ok so I am getting a 120g tank, the footprint is 48"x24"x24" I am looking into t5 lighting and am wondering how many watts I will need to pretty much grow anything I want.
Any help would be appreciated.
 
Most people use a 8-bulb or 10-bulb fixture on a tank that size. Anything less is fairly foolish. I would also recommend that you look into LEDs if you are buying a new fixture! Luke sells some SUPER SWEET fixtures for a great price.

I've thought about it but they tend to be so expensive! Who is Nate or how do I contact him?

Also for a 8-10 bulb T5 fixture its gonna cost you more in the long run:)Luke's fixtures are reasonably priced and you would only need 2 of the Gen 2's for those dimensions.

Ok so I assume it is the DIY kits, that was the only LED lighting I found in sponsors. I plan to have an open top and I have to have a nice looking fixture or it will drive me crazy:sad:

Luke's LED's are actual fixtures not DIY's:)
 
no, not the DIY kits. Luke sells some nice fixtures that are quite similar (in appearance anyway) to the ones that I run. He runs reef filtration. Here's the thread:

My setup is a 24x24x20 50g cube and it is sps dominated with lps on the sb.I run 1 single Gen 1 LED fixture from Luke and it covers my 24x24x20 dimensions with no problem.
