How do I determine what is too much macro algea in my fuge? I currently have a 55 gallon tank with a 20 gallon fuge. It is packed with grape caulerpa and chaetomorpha.
How do I know it is time to farm some out?
Does it get to a point where it just can't grow any more and its benefits are gone?
Do I or should I maintain it more regularly so that it is more beneficial as far as growth is consended and nutrient export?
As a basic rule of thumb in the past, when light can no longer reach the bottom of the fuge, I remove some.
I am curious because my trates have risen slightly in the past few weeks and I thought maybe the mac growth has slowed equaling less nutrient comsumtion? Im I right? I don't know, curious to get some input here.
Thanks CZ
