How much more rock do I need?

I have a 65 gallon (85 overall) tall tank. I'm guesstimating here but I would say I have around sixty to sixty five pounds of rock in it now.

I'm currently redoing the rock work because it looked top barren before. I have built the right side up as far as I want it to go but the left side needs work now.

My question for y'all is, how much more and what should I buy?

As you can kind of see... On the left, there's a whole lot of nothing. I want to build it up into a cave system like the right side.

I try for .75 to 1 pound a gallon.

thats what my LFS told me, 1 pound per gallon........i still need more rock in mine.....

If you have a sump you can add rock in there as well. I added a small power hear to keep extra water movement around the rock.

I have about 75 lbs of rock in my 65. You may want a bit more, but I like the open look. Keep in mind that you will need room for your corals to grow in.

Thanks for the replies, I do actually have some in the sump as well along with some chaeto.

For the poster above me, your tank looks awesome! I neglected mine for too long, lost some fish and inverts along with a torch coral and have a galaxia and a Hollywood stunner coral that aren't looking so hot. Finally got my groove back on with it and getting it all back together. Can't wait til I can start adding more coral again.

Thanks! I took a six year break. Oh how things have changed! This tank has been set up since mid April. I've made some changes, mainly with coral placement, but the layout is basically the same. I will try to post some updated pics later on.

Your rock looks great. I also added extra rock to my sump. It's really just what you want to do.

Thanks! And yea that seemed to be the general consensus. Its got maybe five pounds in it. Probably should get more there too

Oh and while I got you guys here, one of the new rocks have three aptasia anemones on it so I bought two peppermint skrimp to eat them. Its been three days and nothing has happened. Is this normal? Also, I haven't even seen my peppermints since I put them in the tank
