How much more rock do you think i need

Hey guys this is my 110 tall that i am currently working on (im a reefer on a budget :wink anywho i have about 40 pounds of rock and I knowt hat i need more. My question is how much more do you think that i need to get, i have a couple of options on getting a large quantity of rock but i dont want to order to much. The tank is going to be a mixed reef once i get enough rock, i just dont want to glue anything down until i have all the rock that i need. opinions are welcome

O and the little girl is a future reefer, my little niece Skylar (she LOVES aunt Kali's fishy tank...my clowns give her fishy kisses.)

It's really all about preference. I prefer right about or alittle more than 1lbs per gallon. Anything from .5 per gallon all the way to 1.5lbs. I have 80 to 90 in my 75

I know its about preference but i just want it to look as much like a reef and be able to add corals where I want them. Just didn't know what would be overkill...lol. Thanks for the feedback though

If you ask me volume or rock counts more than pounds as rock density can vary considerably.

Regardless how much is primarily personal preference.
Just by eyeballing it I would keep the display roughly 75% open water 25% rockwork.
That said if you may like more or you may like less.

Depending on the rock, I would probably add about 50 lbs more.

I have 150 lbs. in my 120 (48x24x24). it is all live rock and pretty dense. mostly big pieces so no gluing. 150 lbs. of dry rock like Marco's would probably fill the tank way too much.

I love your layout 3dees, thank you for the feedback. I ordered 50 pounds of rock to get started...i figured it would add that and see where i stand. Ill update you guys when i get it in the tank.

I have about 60lb in my 120, but it's ceramic so the surface area is pretty big. It's in my signature. Weight with live rock is tricky, I have seen some that was solid, pretty much just a solid rock, we couldn't even break it with a hammer when my friend tore down his tank - what a ripoff that was for him since he paid a premium and it was from a LFS
