How much phosphate can kill my fish?

Possibly, it was a rookie mistake not to QT them! But now I have the right tools
You don't have to be a rookie to make mistakes in this hobby...which I can personally attest to, unfortunately. There's so much to learn in this hobby, but you clearly know that so you're on the right track.

I don't think phosphate will kill fish ive had 3ppm in a fish only tank and all fish were fine
I have had my cycled tank for 4 months now. 75 gallons, live rock, cycled substrate from my LFS that was going out of business. Started with two fish and have added a couple each month 7 fish total and various CUC. I started with the API master kit and all levels have been great, nitrates a little high sometimes but everything else is consistent. I recently acquired a Hanna Phosphate ULR ppm tester and Hanna Nitrate tester. I just used the Phosphate for the first time and it reads .87. I ran the test twice on the same vial. Is that not Really high?

It is a FOWLR tank right now but I do plan on adding some macros and softies eventually. So I would like to get my tank into proper parameters for corals. I have chaeto in the display because I don't have a light source in my sump for it to grow. I also just purchased a reef Oct skimmer but haven't set it up yet. I've never dosed the tank with anything. And all fish and cuc are healthy and thriving. Filter socks(reef diapers) and bio balls in the sump plus a few live rocks in the refugium as well.
