I have a couple of nanos that I change 50% weekly. This results in my PO4 being .25 and NO3 being 7.0 on the 7th day. The tank mostly has softies like shrooms and zoas. My question, should I keep my current changing cycle or should I adjust. I can do 25% weekly or 50% every other week. Suggestions?

Keep your current schedule.
If you do less the Po4 will creep up even more and 0.25 is already high.
I'm not worried about your No3 as mine is over 10ppm.

I figured .25 was high. I like the schedule, so far I'm getting some great growth with it. I just hate having to change so many tanks so often to keep parameters in check. My display tank takes much less work, I feel.

I hear your pain.
This hobby sucks, I know.
For that I call my 202 Diesel tank the dying reef.
No more new corals in or out, same as with the fish.
No more water changes and see how long we can stretch this.
Just food and water (RODI ATO) what else it needs!

My system has been on this plan since before my daughter was born...almost half its life at this stage...pushing toward 6 years now.....I suspect my last fish disappeared this past week. The last power outage a month or two ago ate my biggest coral. It's dwindling!! Life.

:)

+1 to the NO3 and PO4 levels, BTW.

Let your corals and your tank tell you if it's problem.....I'm in agreement with them that it is not a problem. :)

For as long as I've been at this hobby (correction: ADDICTION!!!!)
there has been ups and downs.

My tank now, still a young system, is taking off and I'm enjoying the ride. Being empty nesters, I'm 53 and will be 54 in December (23rd, yes, frickn two days before Christmas, why dear god, why me!)
I have the time to attend to the tank as one should. Heck, I'm looking into culturing phytoplankton and copepods for the first time. Wish me luck! Might even sell them if I can get it down! "Flipper pods"!

Ups and downs. Yep, that's life. Hang in there guys!
