Ive got some stump remover and want to increase the 0 no3 to 2ppm. How many grams of dry potassium nitrate will raise my 25 gallons to 2ppm no3?

Sweet thanks!

I wonder whats the potassium boost to nitrate boost?

I wonder if its safe to put the nitrates to 10 or 20 ppm and let my ats suck out the po4 and no3?

The amount of potassium added is small. Won't effect anything. Randy Holmes Farley has spoke about this.

Most of us target 5-10ppm. Trace PO4 is best.

Thanks guys.

Is there an easy way to know how much to add?

Say 1 gram of it will raise 1 gallon to 10ppm for example?

I think this calculator isnt working for me.

So i added to 500ml of water 80 grams of it. Apparently 1ml of this solution added to 25 gallons tank water will raise no3 by 1ppm. Is that correct?

I always just made up a gallon of solution.

453 grams in a pound of Kno3.

3785 ml equals a gallon.

Add your tank volume and how much you want to raise it by and you should be good.

Yes, except that the solution should be made by adding 80 grams of it to enough water to make up a total solution volume of 500 mL, and not 80 grams of it plus 500 mL of water.

Okay thanks. I just used a 500ml coke bottle. I filled it with approximately 450ml water and after putting in 80g of potassium nitrate it filled it the top almost. So i guess its pretty close.

If you decide to do this with Potassium phosphate at any point, be MUCH more careful with your measuring. With Potassium nitrate it doesn't matter so much, but it's a really bad habit to be in to mix so inaccurately.

Thanks for the heads up :)
