How much should a 4" yellow tang cost?

It's more than I would be willing to pay for a yellow tang but with the Hawaii ban it seems to be about right from what I've seen.

I never thought that I would see a time when the purple tang is the cheaper of the two.

Seems about right for a decent size healthy one at retail. I imagine they will stay quite pricey for awhile wont be many entering the hobby as breeding them is not a thing hobbyists can do and from what i understand is not a cheap process.

Currently 300-550 euro for a yellow tang, 200-300 euro for a purple tang here in Europe. Because of the Hawaii ban my LFS said I shouldn't hope for better prices in the near future.

I remember those days when I setup my first tank. It seemed like every tank had one because they were so cheap.

To answer the question, $300 is in line where I'm seeing them on the west coast.
