I have a 55gallon DT and a 15gallon sump. 1BTA, 1 Goniopora, 1 hammer coral, a decent sized rock covered in GSP, blasto, etc etc etc... I didn't check my calcium before I began dosing today; but let's assume my CA was 390. What dosing amount would I need to maintain this level and what dosing ammount would I need to raise it too 450? I've tried using the calculator and ended up confusing myself; also as of right now I'm dosing 100ml of ca and alk daily over the span of like 5 hours each. Is this way too much?

Stop dosing anything until you get an alkalinity test kit.

Pushing alkalinity too high is more likely to happen and worse than dosing nothing. :)

After you figure out your levels and where you want to be, go to BRS's site, they have calculators that tell you how much of each element you need to dose.

What test kit are you using? Doesn't seem like you really have anything that would take up your CA. I would think just weekly 20%(11g) water changes would be fine.

I'm using red sea test kit; it's a bit confusing though. I'm going to pick up a Hanna checker

That's the one I used I'm not sure what my CA type is. I didn't need to do any mixing I just added rodi water and shaked it. Would that be 2 part? It was already in liquid form (b-ionic brand)
Yes 2 part... alk and ca

100ml is way too much. I have a 75 with stonies all over the place. My alk once drop to a 6 and my ca was down around 320, because I stopped dosing/testing. 60ml a day for a week got me back on point. 430 ca 10 alk.

Also you can get a jebeo auto doser on Amazon right now for like 65$. I just got mine in last night. No more reminders and spilling Chems in the carpet[emoji15]

That's the one I have right now lol; that's why I was asking I'm just now starting to dose.

Start with the recommended doses spread through out the day. Like I'm dosing fusion 1/2 they say dose 10ml/65g every 1-2 days. My CA runs out quick so I'm doing 1ml every 2 hours every day separating the dosing times by 1/2 hour. And the acro power I dose is 5ml/25g/week. So this one I do twice a day every day which hits 14ml instead of 15ml but close enough. Don't forget to calibrate each pump on there. They are close, but each of my calibrated differently. Some with a 20 point swing.

I found these instructions for set up much easier to read than the packaged ones.

You can only guess a maintenance dose for calcium and alkalinity, then adjust up or down, and the best way to do that adjustment initially is by the changes in alkalinity, which is why I suggested not dosing until you have an alk kit. It responds far faster than calcium to over or under dosing.

If you are using the BRS product, that is my DIY two part number 1 in the calculator.

My starting guess recommendations are here in Table 1:

For the corals you have in your tank I wouldn't start dosing at all.
Just do a 10% WC and be done with it.
What salt are you using as that will or can tell you the ratio you bring in your system for ALK, CAL and MAG.
As @Randy Holmes-Farley said stop dosing and figure out what consumption rate you have and IMO it should be very low as you don't have a lot of corals that need dosing
1BTA, 1 Goniopora, 1 hammer coral, a decent sized rock covered in GSP, blasto, etc etc etc...
Of course be specific on the "etc etc etc" as I don't know what these kind of corals are.
