-Steel stand with cherry wood finishing

-Canopy with cherry wood finish as well

-4 foot tall Coral reef insert that also can act as a central overflow and return

-UV Sterilizer

-250 Gallon Sump (1 inch thick)

-4 Foot tall coral reef insert, that is plumbed to use as an overflow and return as well if desired.

Look at it like selling a business. Take what you have into in realistically not emotionally. If you have receipts this will help you get a better value for a setup. On that, take the real cost and dived that by 1/2 and that would be your high asking price and then take your coast a dived by 4 and that would be your low price. I depends how bad you would like to get rid of the setup to make you 50% number. Also you might have better value to part out everything. Most have there own ideas of what they want in a system and my not want the complete package.

Perhaps one place to start would be to get in contact with someone who builds custom tanks and see what it would cost to buy something similar brand new (tank, stand, and sump). Then you should be able to price out the equipment yourself from online vendors. Who knows, you might find out brand new is cheaper. I have zero concept of how much tanks this big go for though.

The tank is made by ATM. As the tank size increases thicker glass is needed which makes them cost expediently bigger. The glass for a 10ftx6ft tank has to be costly. The equipment is a lot more expensive for larger systems. RK2 skimmers are top of the line and used in many commercial operations. The skimmer new has to be between 7,000-10,000. A 2hp chiller are he artificial inserts are also expensive. I have no idea what a good price is though.

Honestly, he is asking $25K for it? Is that correct? No way. The tank it self in my opinion, isn't really even that nice. There is probably a heck of a lot more you can do with $25K aquarium wise, then buying someone else's used equipment.

It's not my tank. I want to buy it.

Use the same principle, as for the receipts as in a P &L request them and do the math then make a low offer. As I wrote before the person selling is emotional and would like to get at least 75% so if 25 k is 75% and you should offer to start %25 and be cool about it. As so Cash is king, offer 8000 cash and see what happens. Once a price has been agree on, get it in writing and then you can still negotiate further down if you would like.
