I have a mixed reef - zoas, some ricordea, a Kenya tree, trachy, acans, favia, trumpet, Duncan, hammer, stylo, and encrusting monti. As I’ve added more coral I can no longer wait for my weekly wc to add alkalinity. I haven’t needed to dose ca or mag but started dosing (manually) on Wednesday (wc is on Sunday).

my question is now much alk swing is ok? I’ll bring it up to 8.3 or so with a wc and by Wednesday is about 7.7. Is that too much swing? Should I be dosing more often? I’d prefer to stick to manual dosing for now.

Typically a swing of less than 1 dkh is preferred.
