Good day everyone! I have a question about how often one can do a small 10-15% WC. I am currently working to lower my NO3 and Phosphates. My current water test results are below. All tests are done with Hannah other than Nitrate, which is an API test kit and I have some crappy test strips for quick NO3 tests.
Water SG:35PPT (Checked with Hannah)
Temp: 80F
Dkh: 7.9
CA: 452
NO3: 80PPM - 100PPM =(
Phosphate: .282ppm =(
I do a weekly WC of about 10g from my 65g DT, 15G Sump. Total water volume if I had to guess is around 70g after guessing at how much rock, sand, etc. are in the tank.
I have a Protein Skimmer, GFO running, and have been doing TINY doses of NoPox. NoPox dose is currently 3ml a day. I know I should be dosing more, but I am just nervous about ramping up the dose too quickly. I'm only a week into the dosing.
SO finally my question. How often can I do a 10g water change on this system? Is it okay to do one every day? Every other day? I don't want to upset the stability of my tank as my coral seem to be doing okay. I have even seen a few I thought were dead =( coming back from the dead! I'd post pics, but to be honest, my tank isn't nearly as pretty as everyone else's on here and I'm not sure I want my tank out there among all these pristine reefs, lol! Thank you for taking time to read and I look forward to the wisdom that R2R has to offer me!
