How often are you doing water changes in SPS tank?

I've been buying more and more SPS, all have good color but not much growth other than my birdsnests. I've been using Red Sea reef energy and have great polyp extension. My parameters stay pretty stable. Alk never swings more than .5 dkh from 10.5. Calcium is always near 450 and mag at 1400. Everything is healthy but I haven't seen much growth in months. I've had a small monti cap that hasn't grown since June. I've heard that large waterchanges are hard on SPS. As of now I change between 8-10 gallons every week. I have a 55 gallon display with a 15 gallon sump. Would there be any benefit to changing to maybe 10 gallons every other week? I have a fairly light bioload, 5 small fish and a pretty large clean up crew.

What skimmer, how much live rock, and do you have a fuge?

I have the largest hob skimmer that reef octopus makes. I think it's rated for 75 gallons, I know it's not the best but I've been looking for a skimmer that will fit in my sump, but the hob does work very well, I have to empty it every week and I skim wet. I have a fudge with cheato and I keep a powerhead in my sump. I have around 50-60 pounds of live rock and very little sand.

I have a 180 mixed reef and dont change my water regularly... Last time I changed my water was a month ago. All my sps are doing great and growing rapidly. I check my parameters every month and hardly dose. I do however feed my sps and turn my skimmer off for 1 week every month. It's possible that my sps can grow faster if I do change my habits but at the moment I happy with their progress.

90g mix with 30g sump. Try to do 10g water changes every week. Parameters normal and growth seems to be working for the most part.

I dont think you will benefit from doing less waterchanges. This is probably a good amount and a good habit. I would look elsewhere such as nutrient levels or insufficient lighting.

When I was keeping SPS tanks before taking a bit of a break from the hobby I was generally doing 5% water changes weekly, more often than that on the Nano Reefs I set up.

I currently run a 75gal dt and a 75gal sump loaded with Chetto, live rock, swc160 skimmer and bio pellets and do a 5gal change 2 a month.
