How often are you feeding Nori?

Hello, I have a yellow tang, fox face and a hippo tang all about small to medium size. I add a folded up piece of Nori every couple of days. Just wanted some opinions is this to much or to little? Thanks in advance! Side note...they all seem happy

I feed my fish every day. A 2" by 6" piece. Its only too little if they ate it all every day.

Agree with Cory. Tangs & rabbits are grazing fish & they graze on algae’s all day long, so it’s normal for those fish to go through a sheets of seaweed in minutes. I personally have an auto feeder dropping a good size pinch of spirulina flake food 3 times a day, on top of feeding mysis & brine. Your specific fish have a big appetite for greens. I suggest feeding seaweed every day at minimum, trust me that they will appreciate it.

i used to feed every other day now i feed everyday the main fish in my tank that eat it are the naso, hippo,sailfin, chocolate tang and one spot rabbit i need a magnetic algae clip because now they are starting to pull the suction cup clip off the glass when i feed nori just attacking it lol

sorry I should have mentioned I either feed Hikari seaweed pellets and or mysis/brine and they eat that too

I feed as much as I can without making my phosphate and nitrate levels climb too high. For my tank, that's more than 0.1 ppm phosphate and 10 ppm nitrate.

For me that's a sheet every day to every other day. I also have pellets on an autofeeder, and I feed frozen food daily.

In my book, you should not be able to see the outline of the fish's spine. If you can, the fish is underweight.

I feed a 9x9 or 10x10(i forget the size) mainly for my 9 inch sailfin, but my ornate leopard wrasse, and Dusky wrasse, also go after it. I have a few other fish who may nibble it, but not attack it like the fish mentioned above. It keeps big boy plump and happy I use the San Francisco bay nori, 100 sheets. It's a mix of green, brown and red algae. 40-50 bucks. Lasts 3 months.

Thank you very much, sadly im going to have to rehome it soon as it's getting to big for my tank. Luckily i have a cove style rock layout so it has a lot of swimming room, but it needs a 6+ footer now.

This might be a stupid question, but is 5 mg of salt in nori sheets going to adversely affect salinity? I'm looking at getting a sea urchin and want to have some nori on hand for supplementation, but not certain which brand to get.

Mine get seaweed flakes in the auto feeder 3x a day, as well as a few strips of nori daily.
