How often do corals in your tank die?

First let me start off by saying that having a coral die is never a good thing.

When a coral is beginning to die, or decline it sets off instant panic that something could be wrong, or is it?

What is the life expectancy on corals when healthy? How many of them die due to tank mishaps or neglect? How many die to natural causes?

So I’m asking to see how long the community is able to keep all types of corals. lPS,SPS,softies....

As long as the needs of the coral are met, they tend to live for a very long time. (With a few exceptions, that is) but on the other hand, some corals just slowy deteriorate because we can't or don't know what it is that they need.
Now usually when a coral such as a sps, starts to die, it can be from a number of things. Like not enough flow, to much flow, to much light, not enough light, unsuitable/unstable water chemistry and every ones favorite........non reef safe critters.

Now mishaps do happen from time to time. That's why tank grown corals are usually more likely to survive when things go wrong.
