To keep my glass clear i need to scrape the glass multiple time a day due to fast algae growth on the glass. Is this the same for everyone else or is there anything I can do to slow down the algae? My light is a redsea50 led I'm currently keeping it at 62% blues 16% white light.

How old is your tank?

Some people swear by dosing live phyto to combat out of control neusiance algae. Especially the stuff that coats the glass overnight.

How old is the tank? What are your levels for Nitrates, Phosphates and Silicates? What additives/supplements are you using?

My tank is only a few months old and am scraping the glass about once a week. In my old tank I would go about once every other week.

Where there is light - there is algae. Like many on here about every 3-4 days for me. If youre using a stick version of algae scrubber- consider the magnets which out the fun into it and cut time. My task for a 400g is about 50 seconds.

You're going to have algae film no matter what, and that's a good thing. I have to scrape my glass every 4-5 days. If you're having to do it a few times a day, your nutrients are too high.

For me algae comes every 2-4 days, takes me 45 minutes to clean all 4 sides on my 340 gallon in wall display. Mainly because I have to clean all 4 sides from the top, I can't get a magnet scraper to anything but the front glass. So, long handled scraper and all 4 sides. 2-3 times a week.

I found found that if I keep a scraper in the tank and never use it my wife eventually gets tired of the ugly glass and cleans it for me. It seems to take about 2 weeks before it gets a bad enough film that she scrapes it.
Honestly with a good magnetic cleaner (I prefer the Tunze) it only takes a few seconds anyway.

3-4 days for me. i sometimes get the desire to do it every 2 days but it’s usually short lived

I leave a mag float with a green pad stuck to it in the tank and wipe the front glass every day. I do the sides every 2-3 weeks; pods like to feed on the brown slime that accumulates there.

A few times a day is definitely too much. See what you need to decrease (light, nutrients, phyto, all).

It varies for me but when everything is going well- i clean it once every two weeks. And a lot of times it’s because I’m bored, not because the glass is dirty.
