I’ve had a 5 stage RODI for about 20 months, and have run a total of around 2,500G through it. The pressure hasn’t dropped and my input TDS is around 5. I change the DI stage as needed but I haven’t changed the sediment or carbon filters yet.

It looks like most filters are rated for 10,000G. So is there any reason for me to change filters?

I do when resin and filters change color and water delivery is reduced.

Every system is different, but I'm coming up on 24 months when I will change out my sediment and carbon filters. This may not be strictly necessary since I haven't seen a pressure drop and the carbon has precious little to capture from the incoming water. Still I think it's a reasonable practice. I put a piece of tape labelled with the change date on each stage.

My incoming TDS is around 50. If yours is 5, you may be able to go for much longer between changes.

Really depends on the source water.

Chlormines are going to require carbon to changed more often.

I've been changing the resin, carbon and filter in my small BRS 75 gallon per day unit once a year. The resin is not completely changed, but close around that time. I'm sure this unit is much simple and cheaper to maintain then some.

I have city water that has chlorine in it i bought the ro buddy with di filter. My tds is 287 it is 17 after ro filter anb 0 after di filter di filter is only good for 100 gallons then my tds start to go up. The sediment and carbon filters are good for 400 gallons . Ro is good for a few years.
