How often do you change your filter floss?

I have a 45 jbj. I was wondering how often everyone changes their filter floss, sponge, pad or whatever your using?

I use filter socks in my converted sump and I change them twice a week

Weekly, I have the RSM 130d. I have a coarse sponge which I wring out then filter floss for the fine stuff.

I have a custom sump and i run filter floss. I have an optical sensor right above the filter floss such that when it starts to get clogged it raises the water level a little bit to trip the optical switch. Then I know to change it. This equates to changing it every 5-7 days.

I change my filter floss daily after feeding the fish. Simple and easy to change for me. I keep a bi bag of filter floss cut to size I just reach in and pull one out

What are you using for floss Ed?

Change mine every 3 days, biocube 32 with no skimmer. I use the filter floss from intank.llc website

On my Nuvo 40, I use the bonded blue and white poly pads and I change it every month.

Yes David it just easy I buy it at Jo Ann Fabric’s and then precut it and have bags to store the pieces. It’s part of my daily routine. Socks just become too much work cleaning and taking care of. Floss is less work. Less work means I will do it regularly. [emoji3]

I'll have to price compare the stuff from Jo Ann's. I had been getting rolls of poly filter media from an HVAC supply shop.
