I am doing 50 gallons every 2 weeks on a ~250 system. So that falls roughly in line with the 10% a week other people say. But salt (and DI resin) aren't cheap.

I have a 13.5 gallon tank that has been running for almost two years and a 40 gallon tank that has been running for just under a year. I got in the habit with my 13.5 gallon tank of changing the water every Thursday because of how the parameters could change so quickly. I also do this every week on my 40 gallon tank. I was curious to see how often everyone changes their tank water. Sometimes I think i can let my 40 gallon go a little longer but i get paranoid because I am on such a routine.

I change 5 gallons every Sunday on my 55 gallons tank.

Rough average is 10% per week. I'm not consistent though. Sometimes it's 20% per month. My relatively young tank does better with more frequent water changes.

I change my water about once a month in my 100 gallon tank...here are the readings as of today which is at the month and 1 week mark since last water change...I have been dosing neo nitrogen to keep the nitrates up a little to hopefully help my goniopora recover from a low nutrient stretch while I was on vacation...

On 40g AIO about 20% Every 1.5 to 2 months since I have a algae reactor. And mainly because of sand cleaning.

the change is reall based on evaporation. Once 50l has been topped up I set a bigger maintenance up hence the irregular pattern.

Phosphate-4 still a little high
Ph-7.9 could be higher
Calcium-480

Only have one coral and it's a toadstool, doing great.

I do 20% a month or so you do almost 25% in a week. You must like water changes I must be lazy but my corals are happy so fare.

A natural wild reef does constant WCs to the tune of trillions of gallons a water a day....

Those that preach little to no WCs are just fooling themselves
